Who we are and what we do.

The HFA Alliance is a cross-industry, non-profit association of individuals and organizations that share the common goal of shaping the AI era to preserve good - meaningful and prosperous - work for humans.

Facts & Figures

  • 2020/06 Founded as a loose network of 25 experts by Lars Schatilow

  • 2021/09 Publishing the HFA Charter of Values & Principles

  • 2021/09 First HFA Day hosted by IBM Deutschland GmbH, Watson Center Munich

  • ​2022 Meetups & second HFA Day hosted by Federal Agency for Employment Germany

  • 2023 Publishing the HFA book and third HFA Day hosted by German Federal Pension Insurance

  • 2024 IBM Germany, the Federal Employment Agency, Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund, RWE and the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate have publicly committed to applying the HFA Values Charter to their AI and automation projects. RWE is hosting the fourth HFA Day. First e2e HFA-project is presented by the Federal Agency for Employment.

  •  2025/03 The HFA Alliance will be a registered, non-profit organization

  • 2025 More and more organizations and individuals are joining the HFA Alliance. Fifth HFA Day will be hosted by Federal Agency for Employmens Germany on 8 October with more than 300 guests in the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg

  • Preview 2026: HFA Podcast, HFA Meetups, HFA Day, HFA Scorecard
